Abu Dhabi and Dubai are among the world's top five cities to buy a holiday home

The average holiday home property price per square meter is USD 2,836 in Abu Dhabi and USD 2,876 in Dubai.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai have been ranked among five best cities to buy a holiday home in the world, a new study released by Compare the Market price comparison web-site revealed.

The study compares average property prices, the monthly cost of living for a family of four, crime score, restaurants per 10,000 people, average temperature and average rainfall in the world’s top 50 cities.

Abu Dhabi was ranked third in the list of the best places to purchase a holiday home and Dubai was ranked fourth. Both cities were marked as a perfect destination for those who like sunbathing.

'Abu Dhabi has grown rapidly in recent decades, with modern skyscrapers and shopping malls gracing the city’s skylines, as well as reminders of the area’s cultural heritage through the likes of the vast Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque,' the study said.

The average holiday home property price per square meter is USD 2,836 in Abu Dhabi and USD 2,876 in Dubai, which is lower than in other popular cities for holiday homes such as Venice, Jerusalem, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Marbella, Lisbon, Palma de Mallorca, Dubrovnik, Galway and Rome.

Both cities of the UAE were found the safest in the world, offering the best quality of life as well as world-class amenities and well-developed infrastructure.

Abu Dhabi was rated the safest city in crime index score among 50 cities studied in the research.

Earlier, the Global Finance magazine had named the UAE the world’s second safest country.

Interestingly, Abu Dhabi and Dubai also turned out to be more affordable in terms of the average monthly cost of living for a family of four. It costs USD 2,865 to a four-member family in Abu Dhabi and USD 3,191 in Dubai.

Other popular holiday home cities such as Venice, Las Vegas, Rome, Cork, New Orleans, Jerusalem, Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, London, New York and San Francisco are more expensive for a family of four when compared to the UAE’s cities.
