Abu Dhabi has a record for foreign direct investment in the real estate sector. Over the past six months, foreign investors have directly invested AED 834.6 million ($227.2 million) in real estate in the emirate. This is 363% more than in the first half of 2022. Such data was provided by Department of Municipalities and Transport.
Such a volume of investments turned out to be an absolute record. Most of all foreign investors have invested in the following areas:
Saadiyat Island - 34 % of the total amount;
Yas Island - 28 %;
Al Jurf - 12 %
Al Reem Island - 11 %
Al Shamkha - 8 %
Adib Al-Afifi, Executive Head of DMT real estate sector, noted that this result is due to many factors. These include a strategic location, developed infrastructure and a stable economy.
He also noted that the growth in the volume of foreign direct investment reflects the confidence of foreign investors in the Abu Dhabi economy, its ability to bring dividends with long-term investments.
