Currently, projects in the realms of artificial intelligence and life sciences are progressing here, with investments ranging between AED 3 and 4 billion. These initiatives target pivotal sectors such as energy, space, life sciences, and agriculture. Ahmed Baghoum, CEO of Masdar City, disclosed that active discussions are ongoing with international firms to relocate and establish research centres.
Baghoum further revealed during the inaugural day of the World Future Energy Summit, organised by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), that the collective worth of projects currently underway in the City is estimated at around AED 1 billion, including the Masdar City Complex and The Link, scheduled for completion by mid-2025.
He underscored that Masdar City is presently focusing on vital sectors including energy, artificial intelligence, space, life sciences, and agriculture, highlighting the significance of these areas for Abu Dhabi and the UAE at large: “We are working to support and focus on them by attracting talent and partners.”
Additionally, he mentioned ongoing negotiations with foreign entities to relocate and establish their research centres within Masdar City.
