
According to the latest information provided by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the city received 14.36 million foreign visitors in 2022, which is 97% more than the 7.28 million visitors who arrived in 2021.
The Emirate was also close to reaching the 16.73 million visitors it had before the pandemic in 2019. This further strengthened its ranking as the best destination in the Tripadvisor Travelers’ rating Choice Awards 2023 for the second year in a row. Only two cities in history have achieved such a result.

According to the latest statistics from the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), world tourism in 2022 was 37% lower than in 2019. The most significant increase was observed in the Middle East, where the number of arrivals increased to 83%. Dubai has surpassed both international and regional recovery indicators: in 2022, the number of visitors to the city reached 86% of the level that existed before the pandemic.
