The total value of Abu Dhabi real estate transactions exceeded 71 billion dirhams last year, with higher growth expected in 2022.
In 2021, a total of 14,958 transactions worth 71.5 billion dirhams were made, reflecting a positive trend in the context of the pandemic, said Adeeb Al Afifi, executive director of real estate at the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
In the real estate sector, 7,262 purchase and sale transactions worth 18.2 billion dirhams and 7,696 mortgage transactions worth 53.3 billion dirhams were registered.
Al Afifi noted that the figures show investors' confidence in the Abu Dhabi real estate market.
The main areas of real estate transactions are the following: Yas Island (4.1 billion dirhams), Al Reem Island (3.2 billion dirhams), Saadiyat Island (2.5 billion dirhams) and Khalifa City (915 million dirhams).
