Arada has revealed its new ambitious project, Naseej District. The upscale neighbourhood will be dedicated to art, design and culture and will spring up in the heart of New Sharjah. The total cost of this megaproject stands at USD 6.5 billion.
Naseej, which means fabric in Arabic, reflects the developer’s idea of weaving together diverse skills, talents and backgrounds into a coherent social space for the creative community in Sharjah.
According to the master plan, Naseej District consists of 16 apartment buildings designed in a contemporary style and accompanied by anchor cultural attractions. A range of creative events that will be held there are meant to encourage both residents and visitors to collaborate and learn.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Arada, commented, 'The introduction of Naseej District is another step in Sharjah’s journey to embrace art and culture as a way of living. We are working to curate a thriving community that will house some of the region’s finest creative talent, while also becoming a destination for those who seek authentic and engaging cultural activities.'
Just a few days ago, the company announced the launch of Tiraz, the first residential building to open sales in Naseej District. Tiraz will feature 128 units in total, including studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments overlooking open courtyards and garden spaces.
In addition to that, an array of high-quality cultural, artistic and retail destinations is planned in the neighbourhood. Both Tiraz residents and visitors to Naseej District as well as art enthusiasts from around UAE will be able to enjoy it.
The end of the district will be marked by an iconic and beautifully designed building that will incorporate galleries, a museum and exhibition space. The future architectural statement will become Naseej District's showpiece and focal point for learning, with permanent exhibitions focusing on such topics as Sharjah’s growth story and climate change.
Construction on Naseej District is expected to start in Q2 2021, and the first homes will be delivered in Q1 2023.
