Dubai South is a large, rapidly developing district in the western part of Dubai. It covers an area of 145 square kilometres. Originally named Dubai World Central, the project commenced development in 2006, with its central feature being the large Al Maktoum Airport. The community is strategically positioned between two major highways, Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. It takes just one hour to reach the centre of Abu Dhabi. The drive to Downtown Dubai is approximately 40 minutes.

What transport is available in Dubai South?

Residents can conveniently utilise public transportation and parking facilities within Dubai South. Parking is available at all modern residential complexes, near the airport and at the Expo City pavilions.

City buses operate within the community, offering access to neighbouring communities and the city centre. The Expo 2020 subway station is also conveniently located in the neighbourhood. In the evening, the fountains are beautifully illuminated and a fire is lit in the centre of the plaza. The water show is accompanied by music composed specifically for this art installation by Ramin Djawadi.

The Expo City area boasts several pavilions dedicated to different countries worldwide. Parks have also been created for outdoor enjoyment. Al Forsan Park, for example, has a large children's playground. The community regularly hosts public event conferences and concerts, making it a popular spot for both city residents and tourists.
