Nakheel registers record sales in January

The company sold USD 93 million worth of properties in one month.

According to UAE-based developer Nakheel, demand for high-end properties with outdoor living spaces continues to grow in 2021, as lifestyle changes became a priority in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The master builder of the Palm Jumeirah registered record sales in January, with 133 transactions worth USD 93 million in total, the highest monthly sales so far.

Moreover, the developer also sold USD 599 million worth of properties, including 800 high-end family villas during the past year.

Its top-selling development, Nad Al Sheba Villas, saw half of its premium homes snapped up in 12 months. In 2021 Nad Al Sheba Villas continues to attract buyers wishing to upgrade to larger homes.

Last year's trend towards more indoor and outdoor family living space, that emerged in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, continues.

After the lockdown last year investors flowed into Dubai’s real estate market, mostly buying homes with exclusive outdoor space. Analysts said the experience during the lockdown prompted people to rethink their lifestyle and living choices.

The Dubai Land Department reported earlier, 'During the lockdown, search and demand data showed that people started looking for bigger properties. The search and demand data shifted from the traditional small family apartments to villa/townhouses. This trend has grown significantly since the lockdown started and continues to have an effect on the market'.
