The comprehensive plan for the development of rural and wild areas of Dubai has been officially approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This area is 2,216 km2 and includes the implementation of complex projects and development initiatives.
«We have the most beautiful city in the world. Our goal is to make the Dubai countryside and prairies the best and most beautiful places for everyone», says Sheikh Mohammed. He stated that the directives concerned rural development plans with the aim of obtaining direct economic benefits for those who live in these areas.
The Dubai Media Office posted a tweet saying that the plan includes preserving rural areas and providing all services, amenities and needs to their residents. The plan will include the preservation of archaeological sites and nature reserves, as well as support for farmers and local products.
The implementation and management will be handled by the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning.
